Joseph RescignoJoseph Rescigno
For 38 seasons, beginning in 1981, Maestro Rescigno served as Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee (WI). In addition, he has conducted symphonies, concertos, operas and oratorios, from Bach through contemporary works, in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Engagements include such companies as the Montreal Symphony and the New York City Opera. He has made seven recordings – Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Verismo, Joruri and Río de Sangre. Maestro Rescigno's book, Conducting Opera: Where Theater Meets Music, has been published by University of North Texas Press (2020).

As part of national press representation for Maestro Rescigno, Nancy Shear Arts Services worked with the Florentine Opera to publicize the world premiere production of Río de Sangre, an opera by Don Davis (with a libretto by Kate Gale, in a Spanish translation by Alicia Partnoy), and subsequently represented the Albany Records recording on CD.
