1981, Joseph Rescigno has served as Artistic Advisor and Principal
Conductor of the Florentine Opera Company (Milwaukee). In addition, he
has conducted symphonies, concertos, operas and oratorios, from Bach
through contemporary works, in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
Engagements include such companies as the Montreal Symphony and the New
York City Opera. He has made seven recordings – Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Verismo, Joruri and R�o de Sangre. Maestro Rescigno is now writing his first book, The View From the Pit: Where Theater Meets Music.

Arts Services worked with the Florentine Opera to publicize the world
premiere production of R�o de Sangre,
an opera by Don Davis (with a libretto by Kate Gale, in a Spanish
translation by Alicia Partnoy), and subsequently represented the Albany
Records recording on CD.
